Sacred Heart Catholic Church
The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternity that was founded in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney. The Knights was founded in honor of the late explorer Christopher Columbus. Today the Knights have expanded from its original location the New Haven, Connecticut, United States to all parts of the world.
Today, there has been nearly 15,000 councils founded that serve approximately 2 million members. There is four degrees within the Order that each exemplify a different principle of the Order. Membership to the Knights is limited to "practicing Catholic" men those 18 years or older.
